Advantages

This engine comes from a fairly new family. It was introduced in 1995 and was at first a replacement for its predecessor. The lower geometry did not change at all, and the developers replaced the cast iron block with an aluminum block. In addition, they put a nickasil coating for all cylinders, improved connecting rods and pistons. The length of the new connecting rod was 140 millimeters, the compression height of the pistons is about 32.5 millimeters. The exhaust system was completely changed, the cylinder head was used in the style of similar models. But the system for gas distribution and its phases became used on all engines. The injectors were also improved to achieve better production results.

A technical change in 1998 greatly influenced the series in the future. It introduced cast iron liners for the cylinder block. And a second phase rotator was now used on the exhaust shaft. Some lift camshafts, connecting rods and pistons received quality upgrades. A disa intake manifold, the latest cooling system and an electronic throttle slide couldn’t fail to please experienced drivers.

This unit emphasized torque over power from the other series. After 2000, the engine was superseded by newer members of the series and sixes, and in 2001 production of the parts was completely ended.

Disadvantages

Modifications

The M52TUB25 was produced from 1998 to 2001 and received an updated gas and phase distribution system. Another phase rotator was also added and the system even had a name change. Other camshafts helped with improved compression ratio, power and torque.

The M52B25 was produced from 1995 to 1999 and was a completely basic version. Compression ratio, power and torque were standard in this version.

Chip tuning

A new cold intake, intake manifold from other versions will work to increase power. Distributor shafts with small phases and lifts will improve the tuning perfectly. This will help make 210 to 220 horsepower.

The displacement can also be increased to 2.8 liters by installing a stroker whale for the cylinder block. This will be accomplished by purchasing a crankshaft and connecting rods from other models.
